Biography

Miki Rokuroda is a New York City based artist. Early in her artistic development, she trained as a traditional Japanese painter in Tokyo Tama Art University. Moving to New York City in 2000, she has continued to evolve her vision. She’s held 3 separate solo shows in New York City, participated in the Viewing Program at The Drawing Center, as well as having her work at the Fukuoka Art Museum in Japan. Much of her abstract art uses traditional Japanese materials. They are hightly detailed and labor-intensive, creating, exciting, moody and emotional combinations of color and texture.
