Previous Work

These lines, shapes and color form the basis of my work representative of the many words I am too cowardly to speak, or humble moments left being unnoticed in my everyday life. I paint them on paper one by one, so I hope they will not be forgotten and disappear, but stay here forever. That working process and the preparation of these traditional Japanese pigments and materials I use in my work are time-consuming and require patience. Through those time and process, making art work means facing myself deep inside, and somewhat the prayer for hope. 

画面の中のそれぞれの線や形、色は、私自身が口に出すことなく終わった言葉たち、あるいは日常のなかのささやかな瞬間たちで、それはそのまま投げ置いてしまえば 忘れ去られ消えていくものたちであり、それらをひとつひとつ画面に描いていくことで、少なくともそこに永遠に残る気がしている。そのひとつひとつ描いていくという作業は、日本画材を扱う作業にも似て時間を要するものであり、その時間と工程を通して、制作は自分との対話でもあったり、また、どこか希望に対する祈りのようなものにも感じる。言葉たちや瞬間たちを画面に残していく作業=制作は私自身が死ぬ日まで続くのだと思う、というのも、これらは全て日常の中で考え、感じ、思うことの中に存在したものだからである。
